The 32 councils in Scotland charge between £1,468 (South Lanarkshire) and £1,816 (Midlothian) for a Band D home in 2026/27. The Scotland average is £1,653, +7.1% on 2025/26. Scotland has eight bands on 1 April 1991 values with its own ratios for Bands E to H; the figures exclude the water and sewerage charges collected with council tax.
